The Company produces phosphates at the Flix facility (Tarragona) and at its Escombreras plant (Cartagena) since 2004, bringing its production to 200,000 tons per annum. The phosphates produced by Ercros are used as additives in manufacturing supplements and compound fodder, as they are the safest and most reliable source of calcium and phosphorous for animal growth.

Ercros has a great deal of experience in marketing dicalcium phosphate, which has enabled it to become Spanish market leader in this field with a 60% market share. The domestic market accounts for 81% of its sales and the Company is third in the European market with a share of 13%. Its primary export markets are the other EU members and the countries around the Mediterranean rim.

Thanks to the Cartagena plant, Ercros will henceforth also have an active presence in the monocalcium phosphate market, a growing market.
