Ethyl acetate (acetic ether, acetic ester) is a colourless, highly volatile liquid, not very soluble in water but soluble in organic solvents.
It is produced from acetaldehyde and obtained with a purity> 99.8%. Its density at 20ºC is 902 gr/l.

It is used as a solvent in paints, varnishes and lacquers and in the manufacture of printing inks and adhesives.
It is used in the pharmaceuticals industry as an extracting agent and in the food industry to manufacture artificial flavourings.
