Ercros sells two varieties of nitric acid (concentrated nitric acid and weak nitric acid) which it produces at its Tarragona plant. This facility has an annual production capacity of 39,000 tons. Ercros sells the bulk of this product in Spain with the South of France being the main export market.

Nitric acid is principally used to manufacture fertilisers and explosives, but is also used as an intermediate product in the manufacture of foam for furniture, car seats and other uses.
