Founded in 1989, Ercros grew out of what were once the two leading private chemical companies in Spain: Unión Explosivos Río Tinto S.A. (ERT) and Cros S.A. In 2005, it acquired the Aragonesas Group followed in 2006 by Derivados Forestales Group XXI, making it the leading non-petrochemical, non-multinational Spanish chemical company.
Ercros is an industrial group focussed on the manufacture and marketing of basic products for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, as well as for the plastics, swimming pool water treatment and animal feed sectors.
The Company has a share capital of 30 million euros and its shares are listed on the Mercado Continuo of the Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid and Valencia Stock Markets.
The company has a workforce of 1,819(1) people spread across 15 production facilities.
With annual production in excess of 2 million tons, annual sales at Ercros amount to some 569 million euros. Its products are used by some 2,000 customers and can be found in over 90 countries worldwide.
