Ercros factory in Sabiñánigo awarded for its job security

Sabiñánigo, june 5, 2015.- Ercros factory in Sabiñánigo has received the Safety Award 2014 from the Business Federation of the Spanish Chemical Industry (Feique). This award is a recognition to the chemical production centers, with more than 50 employees, who have obtained an accident frequency rate equal to 0 in 2014; that is, they have not suffered any accident with leave last year.

Recent years in Sabiñánigo’s factory have been excellent in terms of job security. The last accident with leave among in-house personnel occurred in 2011. Even more, in 2014 there weren’t any accidents without a leave and the same numbers are being shown so far in 2015: 0 accidents at work.

Job security is a matter of top priority for Ercros, that’s why a new campaign was launched earlier this year: "Count to 6". This campaign remembers the employees the importance of a brief reflection before starting any task, to be sure that all measures on labor safety are being fulfilled and thus prevent accidents.

Sabiñánigo factory has certified its management system of prevention, according to OHSAS 18001 standard; quality, to ISO 9001; environmental, to ISO 14001, and energy management according to ISO 50001 standard. In addition, it is registered in the European environmental register EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme).

Indeed, earlier this year, the Government of Aragon, by delegation of the European Commission awarded Ercros factories in Sabiñánigo and Monzón for their more than five years in the EMAS register, which recognizes excellence in environmental behavior, beyond the legal regulations; credibility and social and corporate responsibility, and transparency in business activity.
