Ercros employees collaborate in the Gran Recapte campaign

Barcelona, December 17, 2015 . - Seven people from Ercros have participated as volunteers in the collection and sorting of food at the Gran Recapte campaign, organized by the Food Bank of Catalunya on 27 and 28 November.

More than 25,000 volunteers have participated in the seventh edition of the Gran Recapte and have classified 4.69 million kilos of products, which have been collected in about 2,500 markets and supermarkets in over 370 municipalities.

Two of the seven volunteers from Ercros have participated in the food collection phase in supermarkets in Tarragona and Tortosa and the remaining five, in the sorting of the food in Barcelona.

This year all the food has been stored in less than two weeks and at the beginning of December has begun its distribution among 700 social assistance institutions collaborating the Food Bank, which would distribute it to over 250,000 people across Catalunya.
