Barcelona, June 3, 2016. - Ercros factories in Aranjuez and Almussafes received the 2015 Safety Award granted by the Business Federation of the Spanish Chemical Industry (Feique). This award is a recognition of the production centres in the chemical sector, with more than 50 employees, who have not suffered any accident with leave during last year.
Almussafes factory is part of the intermediate chemical division of Ercros and is the world leading producer of paraformaldehyde, a product used for the manufacture of resins with applications in the furniture industry, textiles, paper or paints. The factory has a staff of 102 workers, a production capacity of 840,000 tons per year and exports 95% of its production.
Almussafes and Aranjuez factories have approved their management system of prevention, according to the OHSAS 18001 standard; quality, according to ISO 9001 and environmental to ISO 14001.
