Ercros presents its range of biodegradable and compostable bioplastics in the Spanish Congress

Barcelona, ​​March 19, 2018. - Ercros has presented its range of bioplastics, ErcrosBio plant bases, biodegradable, compostable and recyclable, to the Bureau of the Committee on Economy, Industry and Competitiveness of the Spanish Congress. Domingo Font, plastic specialities sales manager in Ercros, has been in charge to announce to the deputies of the aforementioned commission the Ercros’ recent advances in matter of sustainable and environmentally friendly plastics.

The initiative, led by the Association of Compostable and Biodegradable Bioplastics (Asobiocom) of which Ercros is part, aimed to show the new generation of plastics developed and manufactured in Spain, which meet the strictest European requirements in terms of sustainability. The presentation took place on March 14, 2018, in the Congress of Deputies.

The members of the bureau, representatives of the majority of political parties in Congress, were pleasantly surprised by the "ability of compostable bioplastics to face the current and future challenges as well as the development capacity of the companies that are part of Asobiocom". These challenges go through the total prohibition of using conventional single-use plastic bags beyond 2020. In this sense, the bioplastics compostable and biodegradable patented by Ercros are called to be key in sustainable economic development.
