The factory of Ercros in Sabiñánigo awarded with the Gold Medal of the city

Sabiñánigo, May 7, 2018. - The municipality of Sabiñánigo has awarded the Ercros factory the Gold Medal of the city in recognition of its hundred years of history. The award was collected by Agustín Franco, business director of Ercros, who thanked the city council for the recognition and stressed that the company "is making large investments that consolidate the number of workers, staff and, above all, consolidates an industrial commitment to the future."

The Gold Medal award ceremony was chaired by the mayor of Sabiñánigo Jesús Lasierra and became a recognition to the men and women who during these years have contributed to the growth of Ercros and the progress of the city. In his speech, the mayor said that "this company is the origin of Sabiñánigo. If at the beginning of the last century we were able to generate activity and life in the rural world, we must strive to achieve it in the 21st century."

The event was attended by representatives of all institutions: Marta Gastón, Counsellor of Economy, Industry and Employment of the Government of Aragon; Maria Victoria Broto, Counsellor for Citizenship and Social Rights; Miguel Gracia, president of the Provincial Council of Huesca; Lourdes Arruebo, president of the Pyrenees-Alto Gallego Region; as well as all the city council members and other guests.

Marta Gastón said that "it is the companies that create jobs and help settle the population. We are at a time when companies have an average life expectancy that does not exceed 20 years, hence the importance of Ercros having 100 years installed and stand up for Sabiñánigo through innovation and investments." María Victoria Broto showed her satisfaction "for this medal to Ercros that means recognizing the commitment to the industry and its importance in Sabiñánigo, the only industrial town in the Pyrenees."

Workers and former employees of Ercros, relatives, other companies in the locality and residents of Sabiñánigo also wanted to join the delivery of the Gold Medal to the centenary factory in their home town.
