Tarragona, June 6, 2018. - This week the factory of Ercros in Tarragona has celebrated a historic milestone in terms of occupational safety: 20 consecutive years without accidents with leave among own staff. According to Joan Miquel Capdevila, director of the Tarragona Complex of Ercros, where the factory is integrated, this is “an unprecedented success that becomes a reference for all and highlights the commitment, dedication and professionalism of the staff of the company”.
Occupational safety is one of the fundamental pillars of Ercros' sustainable development and is based on compliance in a methodical and rigorous manner with regulations on prevention of occupational risks and internal procedures; standards that are transferred to the service companies that work in the factories of Ercros and according to Joan Miquel Capdevila also achieve good results in the field of prevention and “show that our good work transcends in all areas and to all people who work next to us”.
The Tarragona factory belongs to the Ercros chlorine derivatives division and is dedicated to supplying services to other companies in the southern polygon of Tarragona. For this, it has production units for steam generation, cooled brine, air for instruments and pressure services, and cooling and demineralized water. In addition, the factory has a sewage treatment plant for the treatment of effluents from other companies through biological processes.
The centres that make up the Ercros Industrial Complex in Tarragona -the factories of Vila-seca I, Vila-seca II and Tarragona- have their prevention management system approved according to the OHSAS 18001 standard; of quality, according to ISO 9001; of the environment, according to ISO 14001, and energy management, according to ISO 50001.
