Aranjuez, March 1st, 2022. - The commission of police distinctions of Aranjuez City Council has awarded Ercros factory in Aranjuez the civil merit diploma for its citizen commitment during the covid-19 pandemic.
The award ceremony for the distinctions of meritorious actions in the field of citizen protection awarded annualy by Aranjuez City Council took place today at the police station headquarters, coinciding with the commemorative party of the patron saint of the Local Police of Aranjuez. The mayor of Aranjuez, Mª José Martínez, has handed out the distinctions. On behalf of Ercros, the director of the pharmacy division, Mª Carmen Cruzado, received the award.
The Aranjuez City Council awards civil merit diplomas to institutions, associations, companies or individuals in recognition of its outstanding actions in the fields of safety or prevention and social and health care.
The management of the pandemic carried out by Ercros had already received recognition from the Catalan employers' association, Foment del Treball, by being a finalist of the Atlante Awards in the category of occupational medicine.
The Ercros factory in Aranjuez belongs to the pharmacy division. The intention of this center is manufacturing active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), fundamentally from the family of antibiotics. The factory directly employs a total of 211 people and had a turnover of 51 million euros in 2021. 92% of sales were exported, mainly to the US, EU, Middle East and North Africa.
