Tortosa, June 2, 2022. - The Ercros factory in Tortosa has been awarded, for the third consecutive year, the Feique 2021 Safety award, granted by the Business Federation of the Spanish Chemical Industry (Feique) for not having had any accidents among its own personnel throughout 2021. In addition to Tortosa, the Ercros factories in Cerdanyola and Sabiñánigo have also received this award.
This good result in terms of safety is largely due to the involvement of the people who work at Ercros and the regular awareness campaigns that are carried out, as well as the multiple actions and activities that are carried out to improve the safety of both the people who work in the factory and that of its facilities every day.
The Tortosa factory has its occupational health and safety management according to the ISO 45001 standard; it has environmental management according to the ISO 14001 standard and quality management according to ISO 9001 standard; and is registered in the register of the European Environmental Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS). In addition, its CO2 emissions have been verified in accordance with the ISO 14064 standard.
This factory belongs to the intermediate chemical division of Ercros. It directly employs 119 people and in 2021 it had a turnover of 94 million euros. It exports 90% of its sales to more than 50 countries around the world and is one of the world's leading producers of polyols (pentaerythritol, dipentaerythritol and sodium formate). The R&D department of the intermediate chemical division is in this centre.
