Chemical engineering students at the UB visit the CIT

Tarragona,

25 third-year students of the Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Barcelona (UB) have visited the Tarragona Industrial Complex (CIT) in Ercros. The students, who are studying process engineering and product engineering, were received by Gonzalo Quintilla, head of operations at Vila-seca II.

During the day, Quintilla offered the future engineers a general presentation about Ercros and the CIT, and delved into the particularities of the Vila-seca II factory that it is one of the three that make up the industrial complex.

Afterwards, the group took a guided tour of the facilities. There they were able to learn first-hand about the production processes and the main operations that take place in the plant.

This type of initiative contributes to strengthening the relationship between the academic environment and the industrial sector, and gives students the opportunity to learn first-hand about the practical application of the knowledge acquired in their training.
