Our commitments
Ercros' commitment to the prosperity and sustainability of the planet is aligned with the SDGs included in the UN's Agenda 2030
We contribute to achieve the 17 UN SDGs
We have aligned Ercros' business strategy with long-term global sustainability initiatives.
Through our business and the way we operate, and through the products we make, we contribute to achieving the 17 SDGs included in the UN 2030 Agenda. We also contribute to achieving the SDGs through the relationships we build with our workforce and other stakeholders.
The contribution of our products is strategic to achieving SDGs 3 and 6, while our business is closely linked to the achievement of SDGs 8, 9 and 12; finally, the integration of ESG criteria (environmental, social and governance) in our business management leads us to meet the remaining SDGs.
SDGs where we have strategic contribution
We are a manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients and disinfectants, biocides and viricides, which fight diseases and prevent infections.
In addition, our centres have a health and safety monitoring and prevention system, and we conduct campaigns to promote healthy lifestyles.
We manufacture essential products for the disinfection and potabilisation of water.
In addition, we manage water sustainably in all our factories and ensure that wastewater from our facilities is free of pollutants.
SDGs, inseparable from our activity
We implement and certify the energy management system, have quantified targets for reducing energy consumption and increasing renewable sources, and invest in the most efficient technology to achieve these targets.
We ensure decent working conditions; support freedom of association; promote respect for human rights; and comply with laws, regulations and voluntary commitments.
We have industrial facilities where we carry out our activity and we innovate and invest in order to have more efficient and sustainable processes and products.
With the taxes we pay to public administrations, we contribute to the implementation and maintenance of public services for the benefit of all citizens.
With the sustainable management and standards we apply in our activity, we improve the environment.
We offer goods and services that meet the needs of the market and thus contribute to social welfare. We apply product stewardship criteria to ensure responsible use of our products throughout their life cycle.
We have plans with quantified objectives to advance in the decarbonisation of our activity; the environmental management system we have in place promotes the reduction of CO2 emissions and we report transparently on the evolution of environmental indicators.
SDGs in our corporate DNA
We contribute to the economic prosperity of society by remunerating our employees appropriately, paying fair prices to our suppliers, charging proportionate prices to our customers and participating honestly and transparently in the market.
We produce basic raw materials for the food industry and agriculture.
In addition, we offer products that minimise food waste and organise food bank donation campaigns among our staff.
We implement continuous training schemes for our employees; we collaborate with educational centres; we participate in dual training programmes; and we hire students to do their training internships at our facilities. We also sponsor school activities.
We have an equality plan and internal rules to promote gender equality; we prohibit any kind of discrimination, especially in recruitment, promotion and training; and we promote family reconciliation and a work environment free of coercion.
Proporcionamos condiciones laborales dignas y prohibimos cualquier tipo de discriminación en nuestros centros de trabajo.
Ofrecemos al mercado productos asequibles que contribuyen al bienestar de la sociedad.
We have a voluntary agreement to prevent accidental losses of microplastics from our plants into the aquatic and marine environment; we control and minimise waste emissions in effluents; and we innovate in biodegradable materials in water.
We collaborate with a non-profit organisation whose aim is to protect marine animals.
We carry out programmes to protect and restore the biodiversity around our production sites; we manage the waste we generate responsibly; and we collaborate with organisations and institutions to prevent the misuse of our products by third parties from damaging the ecosystem.
At Ercros we have implemented a mandatory code of ethical conduct which, among other things, includes good practices to fight corruption, fraud and bribery, promote respect for human rights and collaborate with institutions.
We have embedded the SDGs in our corporate culture and have signed voluntary agreements to commit to the adoption of best practices in our business.
The UN has included several of Ercros' actions in its dossier of good practices in SDGs
