Chemistry students from Unizar visit Sabiñánigo

Sabiñánigo,

Two groups of students from the bachelor’s degree in chemistry, the master’s degree in industrial chemistry and the master’s degree in molecular chemistry and homogeneous catalysis at the University of Zaragoza (Unizar) have made a training visit to the Ercros factory in Sabiñánigo. In total, 61 students, accompanied by five teachers, have learned first-hand about the industrial activity of the centre.

At the beginning of the two days of visit, the technical staff of Ercros presented the company, its manufacturing centres and its main production lines, adapting the explanations to the good technical level of the students. The groups then toured various facilities of the factory, including the hydrogen peroxide, sodium chlorate and chlorine caustic soda plants.

The visits, organized annually by the Department of Inorganic Chemistry of Unizar, once again received a very positive assessment from students and faculty. They all agreed that this activity represents a direct and enriching contact with the productive chemical sector of their area, as well as a practical complement to the contents studied in the classroom.
