Discovery of the Cardona Salt Valley

On the occasion of the Salt Festival

Cardona,

Ercros has collaborated, once again, with the informative activity in the Cardona Salt Valley: a guided route that has passed, in part, through the grounds of its old factory in this town. The visit allowed about thirty participants to discover first-hand the unique geological formation of this emblematic place of Catalan natural heritage.

The outing, which is part of the events of the Salt Festival, was entitled "And after the sea, what?" and offered attendees a visit focused on learning about the geological evolution of the area.

The itinerary began at the Salt Mountain Cultural Park; from there the participants descended to the Vall Salina through the Terrera Vella, crossing the mining area and following the course of the old riverbed of the Cardener river to the base of the castle of Cardona.

The initiative, organized by the Institute for Research towards Culture and Cardona Events, was very positively received by the attendees, who valued the quality of the route, the clear and rigorous explanations and the opportunity to access land usually closed to the passage.
