Ercros rewards the academic excellence in the field of hydrogen
The Ercros- Aragon Hydrogen Foundation 2023 Award for the best end-of-degree project has been awarded to Cristian Barón for his research on the feasibility of integrating Power to Gas technology in the glass industry, which was co-directed by Jorge Perpiñán and Begoña Peña, both professors at the University of Zaragoza.
This award is sponsored by Ercros and includes an economic endowment for the author of the paper and an accrediting diploma for the tutors. Luis Gállego, director of the Ercros factory in Sabiñánigo, presented the prize to the winner at the ceremony held at the headquarters of the Government of Aragón, within the framework of the 20th anniversary of the constitution of the Aragón Hydrogen Foundation. Arturo Aliaga, acting Minister of Industry and president of the aforementioned foundation, presided the act. The award is part of the Aragon Hydrogen Foundation Awards organized every year by the Foundation for the Development of New Hydrogen Technologies in Aragon, of which Ercros is a member.
The objective of the Aragon Hydrogen Foundation Awards is to promote high-level research and encourage the study and knowledge of technologies related to the use of hydrogen as an energy source, renewable energies and the decarbonisation of transport and the energy sector.
With its participation in this initiative, Ercros contributes to promoting the production and use of hydrogen, which is one of the fundamental pillars of the company's decarbonisation and fight against climate change strategy contained in its strategic plan, Plan 3D.
