Students of the IES Pirineos of Jaca visit Sabiñánigo
Students of the intermediate level training cycle in motor vehicle electromechanics from the IES Pirineos of Jaca have visited the Ercros factory in Sabiñánigo. The eight participants, accompanied by two teachers, have been received by technical personnel from the factory who have explained to them the operation of the company, its production centres and in more detail the production processes of the Sabiñánigo factory itself.
After this first explanation, the group of students and teachers visited the factory's sodium chlorate plant to see how it works and learn how the theoretical knowledge they are learning during the school year in the classroom is applied in a practical way.
The visit has been highly valued by the teachers of the IES Pirineos who have thanked the good availability of the Sabiñánigo staff and have highlighted that the trip to the Ercros factory represents an interesting contact with the productive chemical sector.
The Ercros centre in Sabiñánigo, with a century history, is part of the chlorine derivatives division and is the leading European producer of tablets for swimming pool water treatment. There, 12 products grouped into four lines are manufactured: chlorine-soda-potash; chloroisocyanurates; chlorates and chlorites; and hydrogen peroxide and ammonia.
