UAB Chemical Engineering students visit the factory in Tortosa

A group of Chemical Engineering students from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) have visited the Ercros plant in Tortosa with the aim of learning first-hand about the operation of a formaldehyde production facility, as part of the preparation of their bachelor's degree final project (TFG).
The students have been received by the director of the center, Blanca Rius; together with the head of operations, Javier Fernández, and the head of industrial relations, Joan Carles Galiana, who gave them an overview of the factory's industrial activity, attended to the technical issues raised and accompanied them on a tour of the facilities.
During the visit, the students showed a special interest in the production processes, control systems and safety measures implemented in the plant, key aspects for the development of their academic projects.
This initiative strengthens the links between the academic and industrial fields, and provides students with relevant practical experience to complement their training and promote their future insertion into the labour market.
