Ercros showcases its industrial capacity for the nutraceutical sector

Ercros has presented its industrial capacity in biological and chemical synthesis for the production of high added-value active ingredients to nutraceutical companies during Vitafoods Europe, the world’s leading trade fair for food supplements, which is being held for the first time this year in Barcelona.

With decades of experience in the manufacture of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), Ercros offers its expertise in fermentation, synthesis, and sterile production to the nutraceutical sector. Its Aranjuez plant, which employs over 230 people, has an annual production capacity of approximately 430,000 kg.

In addition to producing generic API (including antibiotics, antiulcer, antihypertensive, and antifungal agents), Ercros also manufactures API intermediates on a contract basis.

This allows the company to work closely with nutraceutical firms to develop customized ingredients tailored to their specific needs.

Ercros is currently the world’s second-largest producer of fusidic acid and the third-largest producer of fosfomycin, exporting over 90% of its API output to around 50 countries across Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Africa.
