Monzón celebrates 5 years without accidents
The Ercros factory in Monzón has not suffered any accidents at work in 2019, neither among its own personnel nor among external ones, and in this way it has gone on for five consecutive years without any accidents at its facilities. These good results are the result of the involvement of the entire workforce in terms of safety and the work carried out in prevention.
It also obtained good results in terms of the quality of its products. Its quality index – which measures the number of tons of products affected by non-conformities over the number of tons sold – improved by 62% compared to 2018.
In Ercros as a whole, the general accident frequency index – which measures accidents between its own and external personnel (with and without sick leave) for every million hours worked – fell by 36% compared to the previous year and stood at the lowest value in the last 10 years.
The Monzón factory has been in the European EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) registry for 14 years. The center has also approved its environmental management system, according to the ISO 14001 standard; quality, according to the ISO 9001 standard; and prevention according to the OHSAS 18001 standard (in the process of migrating to ISO 45001).
This factory belongs to the chlorine derivatives division and is focused on the production of PVC compounds, with multiple applications: cables, waterproofing sheets, pipes, shoe soles, plugs, films and containers, blinds and electrical conduits. The plastics R&D laboratory is located in this center.
Ercros' performance in all aspects of sustainability has earned it the Platinum classification awarded by the EcoVadis international rating, obtaining a score of 77 out of 100. With this score, Ercros is among the 1% of companies with this rating. better compliance with environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) criteria.
