Researchers from the Recycles project visit the Cerdanyola factory

Ercros' Cerdanyola factory received a visit from international researchers as part of the Recycles project, led by the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and coordinated by the environmental technology company Aeris. The Recycles project promotes international cooperation between academia and industry.

The objective of the visit was to learn about the factory's biological gas treatment facilities, as part of a collaboration to research biological processes, integrated effluent treatment, and resource recovery.

Notable among the visitors were Professor Boonya Charnnok, a researcher at Prince of Songkla University (PSU) in Thailand, and David Gabriel, a professor in the Department of Chemical, Biological, and Environmental Engineering at the UAB.

Factory director Héctor Barón welcomed the visitors and introduced the company, and the activities carried out at the centre. The group then visited the biological gaseous emissions treatment plant (bioescrubber), where Cerdanyola's technical support manager, Amadeu Ricart, explained how this facility works, as a key component of the factory's environmental management.

This visit reinforces the Cerdanyola centre’s role as a benchmark in the application of clean technologies and its commitment to innovation and sustainability.
