The Tarragona factory reaches 27 years without any accidents with leave

The Ercros factory in Tarragona has reached an extraordinary milestone in occupational safety: 27 consecutive years without any accidents with leave among its own personnel, amounting to 3.8 million hours worked without any such incidents.

This achievement, highly significant in the chemical industry, is even more remarkable considering that the facility operates year-round in rotating shifts, with continuous industrial processes and the handling of hazardous substances. In such a complex environment, maintaining the physical integrity of workers for nearly three decades reflects an exceptional level of operational excellence and collective commitment.

According to Joan Miquel Capdevila, director of the Tarragona industrial complex, this result is the outcome of a well-established prevention culture, sustained over time through ongoing training programs, internal audits, effective shift-to-shift communication, and strict adherence to safety protocols. These factors have been key in creating a safe, mature, and sustainable working environment.

"This milestone is much more than a number. It reflects the daily effort, professionalism, and responsibility of all our workers who, day after day, make safety a true priority in our operations", said Joan Miquel Capdevila in a letter addressed to the plant's staff.
