We explain the challenges and progress in the decarbonisation of our activity

Ercros participated in the conference "Decarbonisation of industry, an opportunity for Aragon", organised by the Spanish CO2 Technology Platform (PTECO2) and held at the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce of Zaragoza.

Francisco Gracia, head of the basic chemistry R+D department at Ercros, was the company's representative at the conference. In his presentation, he explained the company's strategy in relation to decarbonisation, included in its 3D Plan. During his speech, he detailed the objectives of this plan, and the actions carried out at the Sabiñánigo factory, such as the start-up of a salt recrystallization plant or the integral use of the hydrogen obtained as a by-product in the manufacturing processes.

The day concluded with a round table in which all the speakers participated. The opportunities and challenges presented by industrial decarbonisation were discussed. Among the main challenges, the need to have a stable regulatory framework, access to effective financing tools and the streamlining of administrative procedures were highlighted.
