Cerdanyola joins the Program to fight against climate change

Cerdanyola del Vallès,

The Ercros factory in Cerdanyola has joined the Program of voluntary agreements for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), promoted by the Office of Climate Change of the Generalitat of Catalonia. This program offers support and recognition to those companies that are actively committed to the fight against climate change. With its accession, the Cerdanyola factory undertakes, on a voluntary basis, to monitor its GHG emissions and to establish measures to reduce them.

Since 2020, Ercros has also adhered to the Climate Action Commitments of the Generalitat, to curb global warming, by which the company has committed to achieving neutrality in GHG emissions before 2050.

Ercros is launching its Plan 3D investment plan which begins the path towards the decarbonisation of its activity and which, among others, aims to reduce direct CO2 emissions by 39% (2020 vs 2025).

The Cerdanyola factory, founded in 1963, is part of the intermediate chemicals division of Ercros, employs around 100 people and is dedicated to producing thermoset moulding compounds used for the manufacture of electrical equipment, accessories for the toilet and crockery, among others. 90% of the factory's production is dedicated to export.
