Monzón, certified as “Spanish and Sustainable Plastics Industry”

The Ercros factory in Monzón has received the “Spanish and Sustainable Plastics Industry” certification from the Spanish Association of Plastics Industries (“Anaip”), in the category of two stars out of three, and with compliance with 81.4 % of parameters.

This accreditation is a recognition of companies in the Spanish plastics sector that work for sustainability and, consequently, manage their impact at a social, economic and environmental level.

Anaip highlights Ercros' compliance in several key areas, including investment in energy-saving and efficiency projects, the use of renewable energies, reduction of water consumption, adoption of biobased materials, and implementation of elements that decrease the use of single-use containers and packaging, among others.

The Monzón centre also has the “OCS” (Operation Clean Sweep) seal, a worldwide voluntary commitment of the plastics industry that pursues the objective of zero pellet losses and that accredits certified companies for compliance with the regulations on micro plastics.

It also has its CO2 emissions verified in accordance with the ISO 14064 standard and is registered in the European environmental management and audit register EMAS. Likewise, it has certified environmental management according to the ISO 14001 standard, occupational safety management according to the ISO 45001 standard, quality management according to the ISO 9001 standard and has the accreditation of the healthy organization management system ("Sigos").
