What is it used for?
Methanol, also known as wood alcohol, methyl alcohol or burning alcohol, is the simplest alcohol. It has many and varied applications as it is used as a raw material in a multitude of chemical processes.
Ercros uses methanol to manufacture formaldehyde and also markets it to be applied:
- As an industrial solvent for inks, dyes, resins or adhesives.
- As a biofuel (biodiesel) and antifreeze in vehicles.
Methanol is used as a raw material for the production of biodiesel.
Distribution
Ercros sells the methanol it purchases on the Spanish market and has storage tanks in:
- Barcelona
- Tarragona
- Valencia
